MARKET LIVE: Sensex up 250 points, Nifty tops 15,750; IT stocks gain

LIVE market updates: The Indian benchmark indices traded nearly half a per cent higher in Thursday’s early deals ahead of 44th Reliance Industries AGM the monthly F&O expiry.
The S&P BSE Sensex was up 250 points, or 0.5 per cent, at 52,560 levels the Nifty50 index topped the 15,750-mark. TCS, Infosys, Tata Steel were the top Sensex gainers, while Bajaj Auto NTPC were the top laggards.
Majority of the Nifty sectoral indices traded in the green, led by Nifty IT index, up 0.9 per cent.
In the broader markets, the S&P BSE MidCap index was flat while the SmallCap index ticked up 0.3 per cent.
New listing
The shares of Shyam Metalics Sona Comstar are slated to list on the bourses on Thursday. A strong debut is on the cards for Shyam Metalics while Sona Comstar is likely to witness a muted listing, suggest grey market trends.
Results today
A total of 97 companies, including ONGC, Ashok Leyland, Mishra Dhatu Nigam, West Coast Paper Mills are scheduled to be released on Thursday.
